  15. 1.  A working Winsock based TCP/IP or SLIP/PPP connection configured for
  16.     your PC.  (We recommend using the QWinsock and Location Manager
  17.     included with this software for dial-up connections).
  18.  
  19. 2.  An account with an Internet Service Provider.

  21. 3.  Five megabytes of available disk space.

  24. Section 2  - New Features in version 2.02
  25. ======================================================
  26.  
  27. Quarterdeck Mosaic 2.02 includes the following new enhancements
  28. added since the 2.00 and 2.01 release:
  29.  
  30.  - Added support for Cookies.
  31.  - Added support for Spyglass API Registered Verbs.  Support all Registered 
  32.    verbs with the exception of Register Protocol and Unregister protocol.   
  33.  - Added support for Client Pull.
  34.  - Added support for Client Side Image Maps.
  35.  - Enhanced HTML table support by adding support for table width, cell spacing
  36.    and cell padding.
  37.  - The user agent now identifies the browser as Mozilla 1.22 compatible and as 
  38.    Quarterdeck Mosaic 2.02.
  39.  - Improved sound player controls.

  42. Section 3  - Changes to Documentation
  43. =====================================
  44.  
  45.  The following items are things which have changed since the
  46.  documentation was printed.
  47.  
  48.  - Mosaic 2.0 now includes internal sound viewers for these 
  49.    sound formats: au, aiff, midi, wav
  50.  
  51.  - The toolbar can be dragged from the top of the Mosaic window to
  52.    the bottom of the Mosaic window, or it can float within Mosaic.
  53.    However, it can not be attached to the right or left side.
  54.  
  55.  - Demand-dial with QWinsock. If QWinsock is selected as your default
  56.    winsock, when you attempt to access the Internet, QWinsock will be
  57.    launched automatically.  If you are using another winsock in addition
  58.    to QWinsock, you must manually launch QWinsock by clicking on the
  59.    QWinsock icon in the program group. See QWinsock Help for more
  60.    information.

  62.  - Quarterdeck Mosaic includes a persistent cache which keeps documents
  63.    and images in the cache from previous sessions.  Therefore, when you
  64.    re-visit a site, such as the White House Home Page
  65.    (http://www.whitehouse.gov/) the large GIF image may be in the cache,
  66.    eliminating the need to retrieve the image via the Internet. It will
  67.    quickly load the image from disk.

  69.  - On page 5 of the manual, under Hardware, Software, and Internet 
  70.    Connection Requirements: Should read: Microsoft Windows 3.1, Windows 
  71.    for Workgroups 3.11, Windows NT, or Windows 95.

  73.  - On page 64, under Tools Menu/Empty Cache, text should read: Flushes
  74.    (deletes) all documents from the cache except those which are currently
  75.    in use.  (Documents listed in the local history or currently displayed
  76.    in an external viewer are not deleted when the cache is emptied.)  By
  77.    emptying the cache you can free up hard disk space being used by
  78.    previously viewed documents.

  80. -  On page 68, Printer Margins, text should read:
  81.    By default, Quarterdeck Mosaic prints a header containing a document's
  82.    title and URL in the top margin and a footer with the page number in the
  83.    bottom margin.  In this section you can specify how far from the top and
  84.    bottom of the page you would like the headers and footers to be printed.
  85.    (To disable printing of headers or footers, enter 0 in the Header or
  86.    Footer field.)   You can also specify the size of the top, bottom, right,
  87.    and left margins by entering the desired measurements in the appropriate
  88.    fields.

  90. -  On Page 75, HTML Viewer Preferences, Styles:
  91.    The following was omitted between Numbered Lists and Hypertext Links:
  92.    * Bullets - what character to use for bullets in bulleted lists.

  95. Section 4 - Troubleshooting
  96. ===========================

  98. QMosaic fails to find your CD-ROM drive:
  99.  
  100. Install determines the drive letter of the CD-ROM drive (C,D,E, etc...)
  101. during installation.  This information is stored in the QMOSAIC.INI file,
  102. which is typically found in c:\inet\qmosaic.  It is stored as a text string
  103. in that file:
  104.  
  105.      CDROM=n
  106.  
  107. where n is a number.  The values of n are Drive A=0, B=1, C=2, D=3, E=4 and
  108. so on.  For example, if the CD-ROM drive is drive E, the setting in
  109. QMOSAIC.INI would be:
  110.  
  111.      CDROM=4
  112.
